Callus induction of Calotropis gigantea using BAP and 2,4-D in vitro

Abstract Calotropis gigantea is a plant not widely used but has potential as medicinal plant. The phytochemical compound can be produced faster using tissue culture and combination of growth regulators. research objectives were to study the effect determine best concentration BAP 2,4-D in callus induction . This was carried out Plant Physiology Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University, from September November 2021. A month-old stem an explant. three replicates completely randomized design with 25 treatments. medium MS (0; 0.5; 1; 1.5; 2 ppm) supplements. Parameters observed this formation time, colour, texture. results showed that 0.5 ppm + 1.5 could induce than other treatments, 6 days. Callus morphology green color compact texture resulted treatment.
